At the convocation which held at Garden City Premier Business School, the Port Harcourt affiliate center of European Global School – University, on Monday, 3 graduands were awarded doctorate degrees, while 12 others were awarded master degrees.

Speaking during the convocation, the President of Garden City Premier Business School, Dr. Silva Opuala-Charles congratulated the graduands on the successful completion of their Postgraduate programmes, commending them for their level of commitment during the period.

He said despite the huge task of studying and working, the graduands were able to meet up and complete their programmes in record time.

He said “It takes a lot for those who have good job and are in their comfort zone to make a sacrifice to take a Postgraduate programme and finish it in a record time. The truth of the matter is that the programme with the European Global School University takes a lot from the students because of the practical content and the demand it place on our students; requiring originality in handling assignments, capstone projects and the dissertation work. Students are required to attend 70 percent of onsite classes to qualify for examinations and take home assignments.”

Opuala-Charles said the drive of Garden City Premier Business School in partnership with the European Global School, is to address the challenges faced by industries in Nigeria.

According to him, a lot of graduates in the country do not have the skills required for the workplace, adding that it is the desire of the institutions to equip graduates with the skills they need.

“Our journey started in 2018 when we opened our doors to the public to address the pervading problem of capacity in the industry and close the gap. Today, that step we took has yielded positive results with 15 of our students graduating; three PhDs and 12 master degree students in Various specialization.

“Garden City Premier Business School has over 80 Postgraduate students at various levels of their Postgraduate work with the European Global School University, Paris.

“Our students are expected to pitch their thesis to ensure that only problems that are identified are researched and solutions duly proffered,” the President said.

He further stated that as part of the requirements for graduation, it is mandatory for every student to present a business through the capstone project, adding that all the graduands have well crafted capstone projects approved by the capstone board.

Also speaking, the President of European Global School, Dr. Nour Awada, who joined virtually, congratulated the graduands for successfully completing their programmes.
